nashville wedding cakes

The Bake Shoppe / A Catered Affair team works on all types of events to which our products apply. We accept bookings on a first-come/first-served basis. For this reason, we recommend signing a contract with us as soon as you are confident that we are the people who can produce confections and/or catering that will capture your imagination and implement a personal touch to your wedding or event.

Although the process varies due to the locations and schedules of our clients, here is a normal summary of the process to reserve your position on our calendar.

  • Reservation timing: When to order your cake is usually relative to how extensive the design is. It's never too early, but it can become too late as we only produce a certain number of cakes per date, so we recommend signing a contract as soon as a decision has been made. Designer Series and Custom Cakes should be ordered months in advance to allow the personalization. Classic Cakes are a little more flexible and can be ordered on a shorter timeline if the need should arise - two to four weeks is even possible. A signed contract and paid retainer is required to reserve any date or order any cake.

  • Payment: 50% of your order's total is required to confirm your order. This is nonrefundable for any reason - including cancellation of your wedding. This retainer is also nontransferable to any other dates or people. Your final 50% is due 1 month prior to the date reserved. Upon signing a contract, we recommend placing a reminder on the 45th day before your reserved date. This allows time for payment to arrive to us which will allow us to continue the reservation and order.
  • Delivery: The delivery of your cakes as well as any set-up for catering is confirmed approximately 2 weeks prior to your event date. This is to ensure access to the locations as well as confirming the placement arrangements are correct. We require the table linens be at the site before our time of arrival so we may completely finish the set-up. We heavily recommend that nobody - including site staff or chefs - move our cakes once they are in place. We photograph each cake upon completed set-up and cannot be responsible for actions taken by others once we have left the site. This includes site staff, florists, or anyone else who may be active in the area of the cake.
